I need to attach 9/16" round brass tubing to another piece of brass tubing. How would this be possible without using a tee pipe fitting?

  1. Its not easily done.

The fittings allow a lap joint which is then soldered making a very strong and robust joint.

What you are proposing would create a butt joint and they are very weak.

There are some types of rubber boots that might allow this to be done but I've not seen anything exactly like what you are requesting.

  2. It sounds like you need a brass compression fitting.  But, I'm not familiar with 9/16" tubing size.  The normal sizes are 1/2" & 5/8".  Check out this website to see what I'm talking about.  The part number for the 1/2" Compression union is a 62A-88 http://www.fitzilla.com/Store/page100.ht...
