  1. try walking! vigorous walking is as good as running and puts less stress on the joints. you've already damaged your joints, why  torture them anymore? you'll be a cripple in no time with your lack of sense!

  2. quit cryin, suck it up

  3. Go to sportsinjuryclinic.net

  4. have your shins removed

  5. Try shortening your strides, this will put less stress on your shins.  Don't  do too much too soon.  If your increasing your mileage just increase it by 10% weekly, ease into it.  Do gentle stretches after your runs and ice your shins 10-15minustes 3X/day and take advil.  This will reduce pain and inflamation.

If your new to running its most likely due to getting used to using your muscles, this will ease off after awhile, if your an experienced runner it most likely from doing too much too soon.

  6. I've had shin splints all year.  From xc to spring track.

Don't listen to the person who said suck it up.  If you try to let it be and ignore it, you will most likely get stress fractures in your shins like I did.

    RICE.

    Rest,  Ice, Compress, Elevate.

Also do shin exercises to strengthen them.  My calves are a lot stronger than my shins so it causes an imbalance in my leg.  So I have to work on my shin muscles.  Stronger shins also help absorb all the impact of running.

If they hurt too bad, stop running for a bit and go biking or less-impact exercises to let them rest but still stay fit.

That's a good site to go to.  Search for shin exercises.  It has tons of info.

    Good luck!
