  1. I really think you should buy a helmet i fell last weekend and i swear i wouldve cracked my skull if i was wearing a helmet ur better safe then sorry

  2. DUDE, BUY A HELMET!!!! A doctor who has put me back together twice has told me he can put anything on the human body back together except my head. I wear a helmet anytime I am on the snow. How much is your life worth?? For $80 dollars max, you can get a really nice helmet that is really comfortable that protects you when you fall.

  3. Ummmmm...maybe buy a helmet?

  4. wear a helmet

if you dont have one then i would say, ski where you know you wount fall or suck it up

  5. Wear a helmet, the reason they are more popular now than 20 years ago is price and style. Ski racers wear them all the time, why not copy the best in the world?  It may not always prevent a concussion but it will lessen one.  And how bad would you have been hurt if you weren't wearing a helmet?

As to what you should do if you fall without a helmet, make out your will beforehand and when skiing keep your hands palms together, fingers up, eyes to the sky and PRAY.

  6. A helmet isn't going to stop you from falling. It may prevent a serious head injury IF you fall, or help you avoid keeping your head (area) from making contact with the snow.

Best bet if you are falling is to just let it happen and not to fight it. More injuries happen when the body tenses up. If you know you are going down...relax.

Most falls are going to be sliding falls, so you're head isn't in as much danger. In 20 years I've only had 4 falls where my head came in contact with the snow/trees/rocks etc....all but one of them happened AFTER I started wearing a helmet.

"Don't Fall!" is the best advice. Ski in control and if you have to ease off the throttle, then do so. Not only do you keep yourself from becoming a statistic on the ski patrol chart, you avoid taking others down with you.

  7. If you are at all concerned about falling , you need to wear a helmet.

    Otherwise, do NOT fall.

    If you can't guarantee that...wear a helmet.

  8. Special Ed wear a HELMET!!!!!

  9. I think that you are over thinking here.  20 years of skiing or more and I have only been hit in the head once and that was with the butt plate of the ski when I went over forewards in deep snow and at high speed.   Realistically your skis are the farthest thing from your head and you need to do some fairly amazing stunts to get your feet, with your skis on, any where near your noggin.  Have fun and make that glass half full instead of half empty.

  10. You can't avoid it. If it happens, it happens. Especially if going very fast.

Don't worry, people have been going very fast for many years without helmets (before they suddenly became popular). Most of them lived to tell about it.

But if you fall, and there are trees or rocks, there isn't much you can do.

  11. Use a helmet special ED

  12. use a helmet. don't be an idiot.  thats what a helmet is supposed to do. protect your head.
