Question:

How can I avoid shyness?

I am young, some times I like to sit alone due to fear to mingle with others and shyness as well. Is it a disease? I need to avoid it. HELP ME PLS.

  1. Its not a disease

    everyone suffers from shyness

    its something you need to practice at so you can conquer it

    slowly start talking and don't be afraid to speak up

    take small steps

    every now and then talk to someone you feel close to

    or even someone you know very little about

    you'll find yourself becomings more confident

    but don't loose hope because you sit alone

    you need to push yourself to talk

    keep pushing yourself

    and you'll be happy with the outcome

    take baby steps (:

    you'll get there

    i know you wish their was a magical cure

    as do i

  2. Be Confident

    Don't be afraid

    Practice talking to people you know

    Make goals like making new friends

    Try to be loud and make a fool of yourself - it really is quite fun

    I think that it is good to be independent so try not to rely on one person all the time.

  3. at young ages everybody felt like that so its normal

    some ppl show it but some ppl try to be cool and courage but they r actually feeling so shy inside themselves

    so wat u need to do is to communicate much more and go out and try not to show ur shyness so ppl could misuse u, no need to act cool but try to control ur self and by the time u'll feel fine

Why do you think your shy?  Maybe your not just interested enough to get involved?  Or, is it that you are concerned about what their reaction would be?  What is the worse thing that could happen if you approached someone you don't know and try to start a conversation?  They could be rude and blow you off couldn't they.  So, what if they do?  Is that really a reflection on you?  It could be, but likely is a reflection on their personality.  They don't know you well enough to make any judgment that you should be concerned about.  Try to face any fears that you have in some type of controlled environment.  For example, go to stores and talk to the sales people.  This will help build your confidence.

  5. dont keep telling yourself that you are shy feel free to talk.this is not important everyone will appreciate your presence.dont care of it be confident and proud to be yourself.

People might say "just talk to someone" or "just make yourself do it" but its really not that easy. im the same as you except around my friends im not at all shy. what i do is when im out with my friends i try to be less shy if we are around people we dont know cause you'll never see them again right? so maybe after you loosen up then it will get better.
