  1. You cannot stop them from eating what they want to eat.

I know that the KFC video is all kinds of horrible, but everyone makes decisions about what goes into their bodies.

I advise against just blurting out the facts about what you saw in the video. If people don't want to know where their food comes from, don't tell them anyway. This can make them angry and resentful.

If you just absolutely cannot stand on the sidelines, come at them from a health perspective. Just say that you're concerned about their health and that type of food is not healthy for them. Suggest that they eat at Subway or something if they want fast food. That approach is just as sincere and might get you fruther.

    Good luck!

  2. Most fast food places are in a clustered area, so if they go to KFC, ask for $5 and walk across the street to Subway or something.

  3. I can almost guarantee that if you try and tell them it's wrong to eat that chicken and explain why, they'll get defensive.

I know it sounds like you're trying to help and you may even be right, but fact of matter is...people will eat what they want.

Next time you go there, just get some mashed potatoes and beans or something...they have plenty of side items. You shouldn't have much of a problem filling up. =]

And if they say anything, tell them you want to eat healthfully and that KFC is simply incredibly unhealthy for your body.

  4. Gosh, this is a toughie, but sadly, your family can only stop if they really want too.

And i know its hard for you to see them eat these appalling meals, but maybe you could tell them how worried you are and it hurts you to see them eating this kfc stuff.

KFC use the cheapest chicken that's had a really bad life and that's how they keep their profits so low.

I'm sure if people thought about what they eat more and saw whats done to the food and animals they would be more inclined to not eat it anymore.

Maybe you could get your family to watch a video on battery chickens,or get some literature from the vegetarian society for them.

At least you can make choices for yourself, and stay strong and resolute, and at least you can sleep at night knowing your not eating kfc.

    Good luck angel.:)

  5. You have no choice in what they choose to eat.  If it is your wish not to eat it, then don't.  Maybe just eat the slaw and beans with a biscuit when the visit.

You will find that in life, you cannot make people do anything, but you can change your perspective on any issue.

    Good luck.

  6. you can't make them stop, that's there choice to eat it.  but you can let them know that you won't be eating it and you can tell them why.  maybe you can interest them in the research you found and/or present some alternative places to eat.

also, be aware, it's not just kfc that gets chicken that is treated that way, it's all chicken that is massed produced (mcdonalds, grocery store, etc.) that comes from factory farms.

  7. They have the right to choose what they eat just as you do.  If you want them to respect your choice then you must respect theirs too.

  8. It's great that you want to boycott KFC. I also stopped supporting KFC when I learned about the undercover investigations of KFC's suppliers.

You could ask your family to watch the video ( http://kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/w-whykfc... ) and ask them if they would consider eating at different restaurants. Keep in mind that you can't force them to change their eating habits; all you can do is give them information and encouragement.

If your family wants to eat there, tell them that they're free to go but you are boycotting KFC and won't eat there anymore. Good luck!

  9. It will do no good to tell you that the KFC video is totally false and how gullible you are to believe it, therefore how do you think that you can convince your family of anything.

  10. You can decide what you will and won't eat, but you can't tell your family what to do.  If you show them the video and they still want to eat KFC, then you will be able to see their true colors.

  11. Parents tend to shrug off different ideals that their children have. They sometimes consider it a fad, phase, or even think their children will realize their error of their ideals. You should address this as responsibly as you can.

You cannot force them not to eat. It is their choice. You can however address you will not eat anything from KFC. You can tell them about how cruel KFC treats their animals, how wasteful the company is, how AWFUL it is to eat health wise, how costly it is compared to home made meals .. ect. Ask them if it is okay for them to help supply you with a good meal when they eat out. Tell them it means a lot to you for them to support your withstanding of KFC's food. Hopefully your actions will persuade them to do the same.

    Good luck!

  12. You can't stop them from eating what they want to eat.

If they want to go there to eat, go with them and just eat veggies and salad sides, etc. I imagine it's the chicken you don't want to eat.

  13. Have your family watch the same video, maybe they won't love KFC (Kentucky Fried Cruelty) anymore.
