I live in Hanoi - capital of Vietnam. Its nice but got so many traffic jams. I travel by motor and it always takes me 2 hours from home to work which is only about 5km. The traffic jams are often from cross road. How can I avoid it?

  1. The best way to avoid traffic is to plan alternate routes and get a bike. Bikes can wiz right through the traffic.

Also, leaving earlier for work is the most important thing to do to miss the gridlock of rush hour.

  2. Walk to work. 5k is not too long and walking would be great exercise. You could drive when the weather is bad.

  3. Use a bike.

  4. Well, if Hanoi is at all like Saigon, riding a bicycle is a risky option, as competing with 965,000,000. small motorcycles would be DEADLY.

I DID see some folks on bicycles there, but I also saw quite a few accidents too.

WALKING is a bit risky too, as there is no such thing as "right-of-way", it's every person for themself on the street.

I guess you have to "keep on keeping on" as we say over here, and learn to live with it.

  5. Try finding an alternative route and or leave earlier or later so that traffic would be lighter then you wouldn't have to worry about so many traffic jams.  Good Luck

  6. use a monster truck lmao

  7. i would suggest u to go buy a bicycle. u don't need to stop so much at traffic lights and u can take shortcuts. and it's healthy, and environmentally-friendly. and I'm sure u don't need to take 2 hours to cover 5km on a bicycle.

  8. A bike, or backroads?

  9. live at work...................

  10. ride a bicycle.

  11. use a bicycle or a motorbike. Its fun too.

  12. walk and get fit and fresh air failing that helicopter

  13. try walking dude

  14. Get a bike ; )

  15. I would suggest taking a different method of trnasportation, not only does it take more time to get to your destination but it probably costs a lot, too.

I would suggest biking, walking, or going at a time with lower traffic (Very early or very late)

Good luck, and I hope this helped.
