If I'm down to the jury selection process, and interviewing is about to begin, how can I SUBTLY make myself as unappealing as possible to both counsels so I get "peremptory dismissal?'

No B.S. answers that'll get you perjured like "I hate all black people and homos" or "I can tell if people are guilty just by looking at them."

I doubt those work if done that brazenly.

  1. be enthusiastic, pick me, pick me, I want to help put these criminals away.

  2. Seriously...pick your nose and eat it. Then make a comment like, "salty and delicious, just like Mom's".

  3. I think the best way to do it would be to find a way to appear biased but that depends on the case that you are being asked to be part of the jury.

  4. You don't have to be subtle.  At some point in the jury selection process, they are going to ask you if you feel that you could be fair and impartial.  At this point, you simply tell them that your religious beliefs prevent you from sitting in judgment of others.  When they ask what religion you follow, tell them you are a Christian and it specifically says in the bible that we are not to judge our fellow man.

When I was up for jury duty, a lady had used this excuse and she was dismissed.  The judge acted like he didn't believe her at first, but they cannot force you to act against your religious beliefs or tell you how to interpret the bible.  They also cannot punish you for having those beliefs.

Here are a few verses that you might want to memorize or know the location of so you can point them out as evidence of your beliefs.

    "Matthew 7:1

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

    Luke 6:37

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged.

    Romans 2:1

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

    Romans 14:10

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

    James 4:12

Who art thou that judgest another?"

  5. Wear a "Hang'em High!" tee shirt...

  6. theres really nothing you can specifically do since you wont know what they are looking for

i served i was picked for a jury in a case that was very similar to one i was a witness to, i thought for sure they would disqualify me becuase of the previous case but they didnt

either way, im glad i got to serve, it was half days for the better part of 2 weeks, so i still went to work in the morning and learning how the system works from the jury's perspective was a great education

i hope to do it again, not too soon though!  LOL
