Don't tell me to be myself because that would NOT be a good Thai lady.

Thank you very much :)

  1. be a nun

  2. Remember what your parents taught you and follow your Buddhist religion.

  3. why cant you just be yourself and to try improve your weak areas ? instead of being someone else?

  4. Go to the Wat and hang out with the old ladies they will set you straight.

  5. Follow the main rules that Thai people have. (Don't worry I am not a good Thai lady myself, even if I know all the rules, its hard to follow them!)

    1. Never sit on a pillow, or a book.

    2. Don't put your feet on or near a person's head. Especially if they are older than you.

    3. Take off your shoes in someone house, unless they say that it is ok.

4.. Don't put hats, hair bands (anything that goes on the head) near of on your foot.

    5. Never talk back to an adult. Especially if they are older.

    6. Bow and say the typical Thai greeting to someone who you know, who is older or around the same age as you. You don't do this to children. (Sa wat de ka-if you're a girl. Boys say Sa wat de kop.)

    7. If you are a girl, don't touch a Thai monk.

    8. When walking by an adult who is sitting, bow your head slightly, and walk by.

    9. When entering a temple, take off your shoes. Never wear revealing clothes, or shorts shorts.

    10. Always use ka (for girl and kop for boys.) When saying thank you.

  6. My best bet is to try to be more considerate of others. Always think of how to help other people as thais are best known for their hospitality and care.

  7. Hope-

Come over to my place and you won't have to worry about being a good Thai lady!

    Just Kidding...

Don't worry about it.  What I know about this country is, the 'good' Thai Ladies that were prevelant throughout the country when you left have by and large disappeared.

When you get back, there will be a great deal of culture shock for you to deal with when you get here.

    Here are a couple suggestions....

Don't drink at functions where you are not familiar with all the guests.

    Don't smoke in public.

    Don't have any exposed tattoos.

Don't hold hands with a farang in public.

    Wai, wai, and wai again.

You are not a teenager, do not dress like one.

You are not a virgin, but you should act like one.

And if somebody still gossips you... that is on them, don't worry about it.  You can't control what other people think about you, but you can control the image you portray to other people.
