What is the application process, e.g. exams to take? I checked the MTA website (www.mta.info), but I couldn't find specific information.

  1. I am sure you have to take a civil service exam... the Human Resourses page for the MTA is here:

  2. MTA in Los Angeles??  You have to become a bus operator first and do your time until your seniority will get you into the training class.  They promote train operators from inside.  Go to metro.net for more info.  Or go downtown to the MTA building (next to Union Station and get an application.  They are hiring like crazy.

  3. you have to take a civil service exam...

  4. You have to take a test. They post the exam listings at 18 Washinton Street in lower Manhattan .That is the Department of Citywide Adminstrative Services. You can go to nyc.gov/dcas for exams for the upcoming year. They handle all the tests for the M.T.A. New York City Transit.
