How can I be an effective and prolific writer?

No offense, but effective and prolific don't always equate.

   As a Writer for more than 40 years I could probably cite numerous examples of Work, that's cranked out like sausage meat,,, as well as QUALITY work that may only be a one time deal for an author.

   The word "effective" might totally depend on the context of the work, and some desired effect the author wishes to elicit.

   "How to" is a bit more challenging to answer. Obvious issues such as, spelling, great grammar skills, time to devote to any research, time to dedicate to any actual writing with no major distractions or breaks, writing for the passion of it, not the assumption of big $$$, all will matter.

   If a piece begins to feel like work, then it's probably a good idea to give it a rest. I'd say "Practice", but being a quality writer certainly goes far beyond just technical skills.
