  1. 1-Does the magazine use illustrations?

2-If it does, send a speculative sample drawing to their pictures editor - if s/he likes it, they'll get in touch. If you also ask for comments,  s/he may or may not reply - s/he is likely to be a very busy person.

Illustrations used in magazines have to be very distinctive and of high quality to be accepted. The magazine cannot afford to accept and publish illustrations that do not meet its highest standards.

You need to be very critical of your own work and compare it with illustrations that are already being published in a wide variety of magazines.

Finally, your illustrations need to be capable of being reproduced at a high quality by modern methods of printing. If you lack the technical knowledge of how to make your illustrations 100% suitable for printing you need to get help from art classes. This should enable you to develop the skills and techniques you need to improve your work and make it saleable.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that you need a universtiy degree to get noticed. Art classes at your local school or college, especially if they offer life drawing classes.
