How can I be confident about my looks without wearing make up ?

I would really like to stop wearing make up but to be honest I look rough without it , I don't fel good about myself at all without it

how can I get over this ?

  1. I am almost 40 and I have hardly worn make up in all my life! Its more about confidence than looks. If you are happy and smiley, people just don't notice that you are natural. try reducing it each day until its barely there at all, that way its not so sudden and you don't feel self concious about it. :)


  2. If you have clear skin then why are you hiding it in the first place and if you don't then not wearing make up will let it clear up. But it is hard to change your image and habits. What you have to work out is whether you really do look rough to other people. Ask friends and family who you can trust to give an honest answer. I think you will be very surprised to find that it's only you having a warped view of yourself without make up.

  3. Start wearing less and less makeup. It took me a while to be comfortable even going out without foundation on. Though I only go out w/out make up when I'm just running an errand. Try just going out with foundation and some mascara and lip gloss. Once you're comfortable with that take it down a notch until you can go out completely make-up-less.  

  4. we all go through that, try to just wear powder where you need it first, and then eventually use none and do whatever makes you feel happy and wear what you think looks great on you because you'll forget about your face.

Plucking your eyebrows well can really make a difference.  Take care of your skin by either moisturizing (with something that doesn't make your face shiny) or tending to acne as needed.  Try to wear a soft hair-style, that is cut to flatter your face (but remember to ask your stylist to do something that you can do at home yourself).  Finally, smile a lot and have good posture.  Confidence and happiness make a person attractive, even if they're not perfect.

  9. i have the same problem but heres a few good things about not wearing make up:

    1-you don't have to spend ages applying it in the morning and reapplying it during the day.

    2-when its raining out you won't have to freak out

    3-think of how good it is for your skin to breathe

    4-guys like the natural look no matter how 'rough' you look without make up---confidence is much more s**y than clear skin

    5-people will admire you for being comfortable without make up

    6-you'll feel 100times prettier when you do put on make up for a night out :)

  12. I kind of use to be the same way except I didn't think I looked that bad without it on. What I do now a days is just go out and if someone looks at me, they do, if they don't they don't. Confidence isn't something that comes about over night. It took me a good 2-3 years before I became the way I am. I would say start putting less and less on and then soon you won't need any! But don't expect it to happen overnight like I said.

  13. Why dont you get your makeup tattood on?

    Im not joking this is a real proceedure.

    They can tattoo eyeliner, topliner, your eyebrows, lipstick.

    They can do it really subtly too so then it just looks like you are naturally pretty.

  14. i think you should do this gradually

    every week use less and less make up, so it isnt all of a sudden shock to you.

    you will get used to your face, and after a couple of weeks you'll get used to not wearing little or no make up

  15. if you dont feel confident without makeup you could try to just wear a lot less of it. personally, i wear makeup to where you cant even tell, so you could try this: just use a good facial lotion, a little foundation to even out the coloring of the skin (im very fair skinned so i blush really easily) then use a suttle brown eyeshadow and either mascara or little eyeliner

  17. If you are really used to wearing makeup every day it takes a while to feel comfortable without it.

    Be sure to wash your face with a gentle cleanser in the morning and at night before bed.  Use a moisturizer in the morning (preferably with SPF) but be sure its not just a cheap one. Clinique, while expensive, makes a great facial moisturizer.  

    It makes your skin look even and actually FEEL good.

    You'll start to realize that your skin is now breathing and that you don't necessarily need makeup.

    I would also suggest maybe some tinted lip gloss just so you don't look sick (unless you are lucky enough to have 'stained' lips).

    If you find that you still need something else - use a little mascara or just eyeliner. It makes a big difference but is probably less than you were wearing.

    when you do look in the mirror look at the good points of your face

    smile it looks better :)
