Affiliate marketing - you become an affiliate to a company, and market their product. You'll be given a special affiliate link when you sign up, and you task is to promote that link. Whenever a person clicks on that link, the affiliate program system will detect you as the affiliate, and if he makes a purchase, you'll get a commission.

Adwords is a program offered by Google to advertisers. You can advertise your ads including your affiliate link with Google from as low as $0.01 per keyword.

Adsense is a program offered by Google for webmasters to display Adwords ads. You'll earn each time a visitor clicks on that ads.

Hello, Here are a few starting points for you. Try to think of Internet Marketing as a university.

There are so many disciplines to choose from once you are enrolled in a university- English, Maths, Social Sciences, Psychology etc. Now which profession should one join? You can argue you should join the discipline that will be pave way for the most financially rewarding career. However not everyone studies to become a doctor or a financial investor, because it does not interest everyone.

Similarly you have to first analyze your strengths and weaknesses, what you like and what you don't like, and most importantly your financial situation.

1. If you have absolutely no money or have a very limited budget to start out with, I recommend you start out with a program- Wealthy Affiliate- http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/?a_aid=O... It is a great program to start out with because you can learn a lot about Internet Marketing with very little money.

2. If you have some money to invest, you can dabble in PPC. PPC is pay per click marketing where you can earn some quick money by promoting your products or earn commission by promoting other people's products. 3. If you a lot of money, you can start out by developing your own product and selling it. However you will have to research the market, know your audience and analyze your competition before you do this.

So first decide, which stream of Internet Marketing, you would want to pick and stick to that stream. It is very easy to be distracted into doing a lot of things and end up not being successful in anything.

The key is FOCUS, FOCUS and FOCUS.........

Hi,

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies).  One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals.  These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book).  The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive.  I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info.  I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)
