I'm a Korean-American who recently discovered via genetic tests that I am (at most) one quarter Scandinavian ethnically, as my biological paternal grandfather was presumed to be a Caucasian solider in the Korean war. However, I have no understanding or knowledge at all of Scandinavian culture, nor do I have any friends who are ethnic Scandinavians. Where should I start?

  1. Tune in Garrison Kiellor on Sat night, PBS radio. He carries on humorously about the Norwegians in Minn. I enjoy it.

  2. Bout some research online or at your local library? Thats pretty trippy, buddy. Finding out after so long that you aint purebred. Read some old school poetry from norse vikings such as beowulf, that was the sickest story ive ever read in school.

  3. I'm scandinavian. I don't really think too much about it. So far as I can tell, we just have short fuses, inherent cynicism, and a tendency to drink a lot.

  4. Put on a viking helmet, grab the nearest wench, a mug of beer, a battle axe, and set sail for adventure.  Hail Odin!
