How can I be smart again?

I've made a lot of mistakes. For example, I scrubbed the plates with my hands while I was doing dishes. Then my brother told me to use the sponge to scrub the plates. I hate myself. I s***w up a lot. I rather die than my family correcting my mistakes. Does anyone tell smart people to be careful when they make mistakes?

You do not get smart unless people correct you.

You are learning from your mistakes.

Just be patient and think things through a little more.

Smart people got smart by learning. Which is what your brother was trying to do by letting you know to use the sponge. Don't hate yourself. Everyone makes mistakes And you would not rather die than have your family correct you. Dead is forever.  There is no coming back from dead. They love you and understand you need to be taught. They were young and taught once too. Please talk to them and let them know your feelings.

It's not a mistake at all. Think it this way: one job could be done with different methods. Someone who smarter than your brother might tell him to use a dishwasher instead of a sponge. Right? But truly what you want is to have the job done. Doesn't matter of how to do it. The dumbest one is never can have the job done. Don't blame yourself over this. Talk more and ask more questions with other people and you'll be smarter. Everybody learn to be smart by asking. You could even ask yourself: how can I do this job and have it done faster?

Don't worry, that's not that big a mistake. Every body makes mistakes, most people a lot bigger mistakes that yours! You're not dumb just because you scrubbed a plate with your hands and besides, you only get smarted by people advising you, and from learning from your mistakes. To help yourself, think carefully before you do something that you feel might be classed as dumb, but it's really not the end of the world...I am sure that you are much smarter than you think. Even smart people get things wrong!

wow its not the end of the world is it,if someone tells you how to do something thats how we learn is nt it,all through your life someone somewhere is going to tell you this is the way its done,even  so called smart people

Chill!  Everybody makes mistakes.  Maybe get a Palm PIlot. and start to wear lots of makeup.  IT'll help!

Part of becomming smart is learning from your mistakes. We ALL make mistakes, so be patient with yourself. We don't start out being smart. It is something we learn.

Why not ask someone to show you how to do it before you do it by yourself, so you can watch & learn? I find that to be helpful for me.
