  1. Don't use ebay

Use Craigs List, Craigs List is free and the people will come to your house so you don't have to pay for shipping.

  7. I have been using ebay for buying and selling for some time now. I make quite a good living from it. Ebay has some funny rules sometimes and it pays to know exactly how to do things the best possible way.

If you want to start making good money on ebay I found a great resource check it out. You can get it for free if you use the secret link.

  8. You can go to ebay for a tutorial on how to be a seller:

    I will also add:

Be honest and accurate in your descriptions – One sentence descriptions are for lazy sellers. One paragraph should be sufficient for most items. Use lots of adjectives in your descriptions. Adjectives make prose and your items come alive. Without them, prose is dull.

Be professional - use good English with no spelling errors

ALWAYS include at least one picture, more pictures for higher priced items

GOOD Communication is a must - Always notify buyers when you mail their items. It is not only a courtesy you would want and expect but it is good customer service. After all, you are the 'President' of your 'company' running your business but using ebay as your medium.

In short, conduct your business so that it reflects well on you.

    Other little tips:

Do not limit your payment options – Offer all of them. Sellers who offer only PayPal or only checks and money orders are further limiting their potential market and reducing their potential for maxium profits. Some people will not bid on items that do not have PayPal as an option. Then you have a smaller percentage that refuse to use PayPal.

USA Only sales – If you list your items as USA only, never say NO when you receive an email asking if you would ship to Taiwan, Australia or wherever. The reason is that you have a ‘FISH ON THE HOOK!’ This person will bid! When he or she does, this may force a previous bidder to enter another, higher bid or force later, first time bidders to come in with a higher bid. So never say NO to these emails if you want to maximize your profits.  But do say that PayPal is the only form of payment you will accept for these overseas bidders.

Yes, in order to become an ebay seller, you must supply a credit card with all your personal info / Phone numbers are always required to validate the credit card.

One member above me mentioned Craigslist. Keep in mind that Craigslist is basically a classified that limits you to a particular geographic region. This drastically limits your potential market. Ebay reaches tens of millions of people: The greater the potential market, the greater the potential for higher selling prices. My point is simple. Ask 100 people to name an auction site. What do you think the answer will be 99 to 100 times, Sell-It-Here or eBay?   If you want to reach the most people to maximize your profits, ebay is still the way to go. Craigslist, for the most part, is for larger and heavier items that are cumbersome to easily ship like furniture, dumbbell sets, cars, swing sets, etc.

People are increasingly complaining about the high cost of ebay and PayPal fees.  I say, try establishing your own business and reach the tens of millions people that ebay reaches and find out how much your expenses are. To these complainers, I say ‘Kwitchurbellyakin.’  There is always a cost of doing business. Many sellers have left ebay for other auction sites to save on fees. I don’t think this is prudent. They may be saving a few bucks on fees but an item that sells on another auction site with fewer members for $10 would likely sell for substantially more at ebay with its much greater membership. This is the classic case of “stepping over a dollar to pick up a penny.”  There isn’t another auction site on the web that can hold a candle to ebay and the millions and millions of members it has.. Many have tried and many have failed and yet, many are still trying. Ebay has a virtual lock on this business. This is where you want to sell.

The only other thing, avoid selling ‘nickel and dime’ items. People who list and sell .99items and other items under $5 are wasting their time.

  10. Ebay is not what it used to be. I don't even use that site for sales anymore because it's not worth it.

I have made some pretty decent money taking online surveys. It definitely is not a get rich quick scheme but you can easily make an extra $25 - $75 per day, depending on how much free time you have. My favorite website that I use doesn't allow there link to be put on public website so message me for more info on that an I would be happy to help you out! I have made over $25 a day on this site alone!

I have some other great sites so please message me for more information!
