The seller said that I would fit into a size 9, of course that happened to be the one he had to sell. He is 6-2 215. This is a sleevless suit. Did I buy the right size?

  1. To be effective, a wet suit should fit quite tightly.  Not to the point of constricting breathing, but tight!

In my dive bag I carry a water bottle filled with a mix of water and organic soap.  Spraying a bit of this mixture into the suit before putting it on makes it slippery enough that it comes on more easily.  Still not like putting on jeans, but good enough.

The last wetsuit I bought was custom made, which also helps alot.  Off-the-rack suits have never fit me well.  I just don't have an off-the-rack body!  For your next suit, consider getting one custom made.  More money on initial investment, but more enjoyment and comfort for sure!

  2. Wet suits are supposed to fit very tight.

If it DOES feel too tight, return it and go to a different dive shop that has the right size.

Although wet suits let out once you're in the water. Maybe try it on and go into your shower or something and see if it helps at all.

    Good luck! :]

  3. Wetsuits will be tight. If they aren't water can enter and exit, which will cool you down. Also, new wetsuits are tighter than old ones. This is just like new shoes. They start out stiff and loosen up as you use them.

Try getting into your suit with wetsuit lubricant. It helps. Only return it as a last resort.
