How can I beat my fear of flying?

  1. This is what I did a several years ago, I bought a round trip ticket from Missouri to Utah, and flew over the mountains of Colorado. I also asked for a window seat. I knew that if I got a window seat that I should be able to get over my fear of flying, it actually helped a little because I could see what was going on outside, but when we were flying over the mountains it was kind of scary at first but I got over it because the view was just so beautiful. I flew only a couple more times, the last time I flew was 5 years ago. To tell you the truth I don't think I'm completely over the fear of flying, as it's been many years since I last flew, but I don't want it to interfere with my being happy and going to the places I want to go. I suggest taking something that will make you sleepy, like Tylenol PM, works like a charm. Bring a book or a magazine to keep your mind occupied on other things. Hope everything works out for you.

This is what I sometimes do when I'm nervous.  Lean back in your chair.  Get as comfortable as you can and just relax.  Take deep breaths and listen to your self breathe.  Pretend no one is around you and your all by yourself.  Picture your self at a calming place like the beach or a forest.  Lose your self in your thoughts.  Or if you want you can take a sleeping pill so you will sleep the whole time.  Hope I helped!

  3. Studies has shown that if you do 2 sommersaults/day, you will not be sick in the airplane. You will feel perfectly fine.

    And to get rid of the fear, sleep for most of the plane ride and when you're awake, DO NOT think that you're in an airplane. Close your eyes and put a hankerchief on your face.

  4. FACE IT!... you need to take a deep breath and get on a plane. talk to your inerself and calm him/her down. the odds are you will be just fine! I also am afraid of flying, hights and a few other things you just gota suck it up and do it. Good luck.
