Question:

How can I become a better pitcher?

I play fastpitch softball and I'm 14.

I am a pitcher and a first basemen, but primarily a pitcher.

I've had 5 years of game time, and I'm pretty good.

I had an BAA of .118 last season, but I need to step it up since I'll be trying out for the highschool team this year.

What are some good drills?

Oh, and I have a fastball (about 55 mph, so how can I make it faster?) and a change-up (about 30 mph).

Thanks so much! =)

  1. i dont how u are pitching a 55mph fastball when the one girl on my team has pitched he entire life and only throws 50-55mph.

    i am 15 and i am a fastpitch pitcher. i throw a good 55-60mph consistenly. change up- 20-30mph , riseball is 60mph.

to throw faster u can purchase wieghted balls which increase arm strength.

but the legs are where all the power comes from. lifting weights running more often.

for ur age 55 is good considering u have only been playing 5 yrs.

    im 15 have played 10yrs

    batting average of .600ish

i have been pitching about 7yrs.

im only 5'1' and im extremely fast for my age.

good luck making ur highschool team.

  2. start lifting weights working out your arms and legs

  3. R u lyin??? Im not good with softball but i know that 55 mph is d**n good. Well there arent any drills. Theres one thing that can make you throw faster and its the only thing. Throw hard and often but dont overdo it. Feel free to email me if u got more questions.

  4. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, it does make perfect!
