  1. i asked the same question before tryouts. about a month or two before try outs i practoced almost everyday. if this is something you' re really dedicated to and would play even just ofr fun if you didnt make your team then think about buying anet and ball. it doesnt have to be expensive just simething to hold up. its good to have a net as close as possible to reg. height so you can mkae goals for your self and know what to expect. i did the same thing. practice serves, vertival jumps, passing to a target, and shuffling. and even try joinging and a camp or something i did wouldnt have nmade it with out it.those were the only things at our try outs but hey i made the team. sorry i didnt provide much info but good luck!! any more questions email me at :

  2. Serving is important and it's something you can practice alone in your back yard.  Also just bounce the ball in the air, not exactly the same as if you were playing volleyball and not catching and tossing it either but you can sort of hit it and spring it with your fingers so it keeps moving all the time.  This is good practice for your hand/eye coordination.

  3. what i do is have a friend over and just hit it back and forth in the yard.

    try it.

its really good practice if you do it everyday..

  4. practice partice partice makes perfect

  5. Well For One Thing You Need 2 Know The Basics.

    Serving,Bumping,Volleying,Spiking,And Rotating.

Serving is something you can practise in your own backyard.

and bumping is something you also need to know. because when the ball comes to you and you dont bump it.. you may be disappointing your team.. and their goes a point to the opposite team. and well volleying you need when you've been located to the front row. and spiking is kinda a extra thing. but rotating is when after your team gets a point you rotate across the court SO that their is a new server each time. well those are the basics. now too get really good @ volleyball. if someone is joining the team that u know or are good friends with.. why dont you practise volleyball skills together, and when you have spare time.. why dont u practise in your backyard. and maybe after school or during lunch why dont u ask someone who's in charge of your schools gym if you and a few of your friends can practise for volleyball....well i hope these ideas helped you.

thanks for letting me guide you.

i hope you make the team :D

    have a great Day. :)

    -Jenn.

  6. Get in shape,!!!

    And Practice..take a ball

    Do-200 passes

    Do 500 sets

Serve at least 100 good ones over hand and underhand

  7. Find some club teams and get on one or go to volleyball camp...it's the only way to get better....setting to yourself and passing to yourself is not going to help much....you need experience and can only get it by playing.....even if your playing with better players....you gonna learn what you need to do to get better....then by try out time it will be a cake walk for you.

  8. Practice Practice Practice!

i have just summer practice every other day and i practice with my friends it helps alot cause they can help you see if your doing something wrong..not that you will! But don't over work yourself either but have fun! Love Volleyball:)yay

  9. Have a friend toss the volleyball to you and bump it back to her.  When you master that, take a step back and do it over again.   Then you should practice spiking/serving.  Toss the ball up, and hit it toward the floor between you and your friend.  If you can do that and make the ball only hit once on the floor, then take a step back and do it over again.  When you set, make your pointer fingers and your dumbs shape into a triangle.  When you want to set the ball, the ball should land in your triangle and push the ball back up.  when your pushing the ball up, your hands should be "bent" to "unbent'.  And be sure when you set the ball, the ball should should be on top of your head.

  10. Just practice a lot and usually if your in high school they have summer training camps with the coach so you could go there and practice. If that is not possiblejust work on control, open handed overhand serves, spiking and of coarse digs(diving for the ball and scooping it back up)

  11. practice makes perfect :)
