How can I become a certified golf instructor?

You have to pass tests that the PGA of America gives you.  These can include playing tests.  Once you're through all that, you get certified.  Good Luck!!!

Anybody can be a golf instructor so long as someone is willing to pay you for a lesson.  I have no affiliation with the PGA yet but I give lots of lessons.  But you'll almost definitely have to, at the least, be a golf professional at a golf facility.  (By accepting payment for lessons, you automatically lose all amateur status)  No course or driving range is going to allow to teach on their property more than likely.  More than anything, it will take many years of golf experience to acquire to knowledge to properly teach.

Become a member of the PGA.  Please note, the PGA is not the same as the PGA Tour, you don't have to be as good as Tiger to be in the PGA.
