Hey, I've attented a tennis club with coaching back in Europe for like 10 years, played on internatioonal events, and was on the way to become a pro, but then suddenly became sick, and retired from pro level before it even began .... How sad !!!

I'm still playing with many people (intermediate and advanced) for fun, but then I just thought I might as well pass them my full tennis knowledge. Please help me achieve my goal!!!!

Thanks in advance!

  1. You can get certified through the OTA  but your best bet would be to drive to the Rockcliffe Lawn Tennis Club and speak to Nick Patterson the Head Pro. He used to be a player then has been coaching and teaching now for over 20 years. He can tell you best how to go about doing it now adays. He'll tell you if you should go CTA or OTA for what you want to do and also might give you a job if you want at his club.

Look under coaching development in the OTA site as well.

Beautiful city with some nice courts. I enjoyed playing by the Rideau when I was there IIRC it was the Rideau Tennis Club. Best of luck.

With New York state line an hour away you may want to consider getting USTA coaching certified too. Some of the guys here go to Michigan just for that reason. Something to add to your tennis resume and make you more marketable. Ogdensburg may have something which would be nice.

  2. get a certificate with Canadian Tennis Association
