How can I become a cheerleader if my parents won't let me go into gymnastic classes? Help me!!?

I luv cheer! <3 Does anybody have any tips or anything 2 help me?! Live, Love, Cheer!!!!!!!! Help me pplz!!!!!!!! :O

  1. Stetch, girl, stretch!! Here are some that I&#039;ve found very helpful:

    L Wall Stretch

    Sit w/ your tush right against the wall (sidways). Take the leg that&#039;s farthest from the wall, and extend it out so that it is parallel to the wall. Take the leg that&#039;s closer to the wall, and swing it up so it sticks straight up vertically on the wall. During this step, your tush should turn so that it&#039;s no longer sideways on the wall, but right up against it (if that makes sense). At this point, your legs should be in an &#039;L&#039; against the wall. Lean your back forward without moving your legs. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat, switching legs. Do 3 sets of these.

    Face a wall, and put your tush against it, with your back on the floor. Put your legs in a V on the wall, and push down, or have somebody do it for you. Stretch as far as you can, hold for 20 seconds, push a little more, hold for 15 seconds, push a little more, and hold for 10 seconds. Do 4 sets of these.

    (This one will really help w/ toe touches) With your back against a wall, put your legs in a V in front of you. Lift both or your legs about 3 inches (or as high as you can get them) off the floor. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat, this time only using the right leg. Repeat once more, using only the left leg. Then repeat entire process. Do 3 sets of these.

    This one is great for abs. It&#039;s called a hollow body. Lay flat on the ground, and lift your shoulder blades (plus your head) and legs about 5 inches off the ground. Hold for 20 seconds. Do 3 sets of this. Then, do what&#039;s called hollow body ups. Lift your back and your legs towards eachother, so it&#039;s like you&#039;re doing a sit-up. When you go back down, don&#039;t let your legs or shoulder blades off the ground. Do 10 of these.

    Just Google &quot;Cheer Stretches&quot; and you&#039;re bound to come up with oodles of them that you can try. Also, when you&#039;re practicing, make sure that when you do kicks and side jumps (like hurdlers), do both sides, even if you suck at one of them, because otherwise it will make your toe touches lop-sided.

    Drinking lots of water should help as far as toning.

    Here are some basic cheer tryout tips:

    1) Smile a lot! Even when you&#039;re dead tired and you feel like your going to drop, force yourself to grin. That shows that you can look good in front of a crowd no matter what

    2) Be sharp with your motions. Hit them so hard that your elbows hurt! Make your motions nice and crisp, don&#039;t slack off. If you&#039;re sharp, it will make your routine look prettier.

    3) Out of practice, stretch a lot so that you&#039;re nice and limber for tryouts. Flexibility helps a lot in cheerleading

    4) Be LOUD!! Even if the other girls aren&#039;t really opening up and you feel like your the only one yelling (even if you feel dorky) keep up the loudness. This is so important to get the crowd pumped up. Also be clear and articulate when cheering, so that they can understand what your saying and follow you. Don&#039;t use a sing-songy voice either. Even if you feel like you sound like a man, it will sound better to the crowd.

    5) Learn how to fix your mistakes quickly. Don&#039;t be afraid to make mistakes - everybody does. What the coaches will be looking at is if and how fast you can fix them. This shows that you&#039;ll be easy to work with during practices.

    6) Always stay positive and show spirit! Show them that you won&#039;t complain at practices, and that you&#039;ll always be willing. Be happy, and show them that you&#039;re glad to be there and having fun. For the day of the tryout, (if you have one) wear a shirt with you school&#039;s color, mascot, etc. on it. Wear a hairbow with your school colors. Be creative.

    Just eat healthy, stretch and practice daily, and don&#039;t give up! Good luck at tryouts! Hope this helps! Cheers!


  2. you can look up some videos on how to tumble. if you or your friends have a trampoline then you should practice on there.

    stretch and do conditioning everyday to be stronger and flexible!!!

  3. Well, Does someone on the team you know know how to tumble? You could ask them to help you on their spare time.

    If not, there are ALOT of talented Cheerleaders on teams that don&#039;t know how to tumble but learn later!
