How can I become a confident person?

All my life I have had low self-esteem, as a result I have trouble trusting men, thinking that they are always going to leave me for someone more beautiful and confident than me, and I have found a man who is the love of my life, I trust and love him with all my heart, he is my soul mate and literally my other half. Is there anyone out there that can give me some help or techniques to help me build my confidence?? Focus. It is all to do with focus. Google a short piece called Desiderata. Then focus on strengths not weaknesses. With very best wishes for your future happiness. UK
