How can I become a famous singer?

I have written songs before AND I play the gutair.

Now just one question-How can I become known?

Before you publish your music to the internet, or distribute it to anyone else, get your original music compositions copyrighted. How to instructions with fees and questions are at this link to US government copyright office:

Hire a vocal coach to help you hone your singing skills. Locate a teacher using a local newspaper, the Internet or school programs. Find someone who is both accomplished and whom you can work with on a personal basis to begin helping you with your formal vocal training.  A professional singing coach will have lots of useful tips to help you maximize your vocal range and voice projection.

Record a demo of songs that showcase your personal style and talent. Get those demo tapes to major record executives in any way possible.

Maintain an image that fits your personality and stay consistent with the stage presence you wish to project to potential music scouts and fans.

Be persistent in pursuing a recording deal. Distribute your demo to any and everyone who is interested and follow up after you have distributed your recording for feedback and criticism to help you with your search. Establish yourself on a local level to catch the attention of larger entertainment entities.

Create a style that is uniquely yours to show potential talent scouts that you have something that can't be found anywhere else.



Rehearse and practice your singing and musical skills.

  

Take good care of yourself and your voice since it is your instrument and must stay in peak condition at all times.



Post videos of yourself singing on YouTube or other Internet networking sites to get your face and voice into the worldwide community.



Do not turn down any offers to sing publicly. It is the most likely way you will be heard by someone who can connect you with the entertainment industry. Take opportunities to sing in contests or on a commercial level such as nightclubs, talent shows, karaoke bars, choirs, (if you are are minor you will have to skip some of the venues) etc: You never know who will be in the audience, possibly a talent scout or someone connected in the music industry.  Audition for one of the talent reality TV shows such as America Has Talent.

Also look for local talent agents and search online as well.  There are several large talent agencies who look for new talent to hire out at corporate venues, fairs, etc.  Getting yourself out there in the public and building a fan base will help you tremendously.

If you are a minor, have a parent or legal guardian go through these steps with you.

Also, don't sign any contracts or agreements unless you have had an attorney familiar with the entertainment industry review them first on your behalf.

One word: AGENT. If you get one, they'll probably get you a small gig... then from small to big! :] But they might ask you to show your talent. So be prepared! Hope this helps :]]

Start out small.

Just play in the park for free.

Then get a gig at a place where people your age like to hang out.

Then go into a contest like Battle of the Bands.

More then likely someone will notice you and you'll get a album deal.

Yes, all of the above answers will help. The internet is such a powerful tool for promotion. Its also worth finding a well known person who is in a sinilar style to you, and research exactly how they got to where they are today - you may be able to adapt the same ideas to your own situation.
