When I graduate high school, I want to go to the Fashion Institute in S.F. After that, what kind of education should I get so I can go into journalism? Should I intern at a publication?

thanks

  1. Okay so you know about fashion then you need to go major in journalism. They'll probably have something like this at the institute, if not you'll need to take classes. When you start, immediately try to get an internship working at a fashion magazine company and there are SOOOOOOO MANY. Interning helps A LOT and so does interning at a known name place. Take heed though, a lot of places are making it requirements for some reason that you have to be a student, which sucks!!! b/c it's expensive to take an "intern" class and especially if you are the one doing the work it SUCKS that you have to pay a school when they didn't help out, but SF is probably good at helping people. Make tons of friends, b/c it's all about who you know!!! Watch The Hills and Devil Wears Prada (i'm sure you do already) Also there was a show on but i forgot the name and that was tremendous tip scenarios. They were interns at different fashion aspects of businesses (promotion, journalism, etc) i forgot the name but i don't think it lasted.

    Good luck!!!!
