How can I become a flyer for cheerleading?

Last year in middle school I was always spotter or base because, i'm 5'5 and they needed me to be a base or spotter but, I'm going into HS and I wanted to try being a flyer. How can I get ready for it?

and would I be to heavy 5'5 115

  1. it depends on if your bases are strong and stable.

    get flexible so you can pull like bowen arrows and heel stretches and scorpians.. and make sure you know how to keep your balance.

    ask your coach or captains if they can try flying you.. and if they saw yes show them you know how.

    squeeze your butt and your legs so you can help pull up a lot of the weight too.


  2. i was always a base in middle school as well. That was because i was the tallest and we had all of the 6th graders. im 5'5 nd 115 as well so once I entered high school i was a flyer. But in order to be able to be a flyer you have to be flexible! stretch out your muscles and practice scorpions, arabesques, bow and arrows and heel stretches! When your up in a stunt lock your knees, squeeze your butt and DONT LOOK DOWN! lol sometimes it also helps to curl your toes under to maintain a better balance! I hope this helped
