How can I become a lifeguard?

I am 14 years old and I'm living in UK. I'm quite a strong swimmer and want to become a lifeguard as a part time job when i get to 16. What qualifications and what things do i need to do to become a lifeguard? How old do you have to be?

i'm in the US. so i don't know if the rules are the same but here's how it works for the U.S. lifeguards. you have to get lifeguard certification at a pool,you have to take a lifeguard swimming test as well as a written test,and you have to be at least 16 years old.
