Hi I m tour operator from India .In india it's not compulsory to have any degree for such short of thing but in few places they ask for licened guide. To take a licence u have to go through training. i think same will be the procedure at ur end. but to be a guide u must be loaded with full knowledge of that places & also of world in every aspect.

You would definitely need a licence, and have to take a course in the areas geography and history. If you are an EEC citizen, you would probably not need any other requisites. However Bordeaux being wine country, you'd do well studying some enology to have background!
