Question:

How can I become an actress...?

on broadway, or on TV. I am a very good actress as many people tell me. But, I can not sing at all. Please help it would mean a lot. Or even, ways to make money. I am 13.

  1. Do theatre in school and your community and then major in theatre or drama in college.  Don't fall in love with the results.  You have to be in love with theatre and acting or the business will not be kind to you.


  2. If you have courage, hard work and dedication this could be a very fum thing for you. First I would suggest applying for as many auditions at your school, local theatre, church etc as you can. This will help you build an extensive impressive resume` as well as help you to build experience and character. Also, sign up for acting classes/ clinics and get an acting coach who will help you with improvisation and facial expressions etc. You will also need to join a choir and get a singing coach to build your voice. I would also suggest taking a dance class offered in your area such as jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet,  etc or a combo musical theatre dance class. Once you have enough experience then you can find a reputable agent in the yellow pages or online that is willing to represent you and get you commercial jobs, casting calls, auditions etc. Make sure that you are commited to being a part of the acting career field and also make sure that you have parents who are willing to drive you to rehearsals, auditions, dress rehearsals, performances, casting calls, agent appointments, classes and all that good stuff!

  3. Stay in school and babysit to make money. If you want to, do school and community theatre plays to see if you really have the aptitude and interest, but it seems the idea just occurred to you with absolutely no clue of what it entails. Don't even go there, it's a hard life with no guarantee TV or Broadway will be at the end.

    im becoming an actress in 6months and i did all that and it worked :-) keep up the good work and remember SCHOOL IS EVERYHTING all actor/actress had to do school to get in drama lessons
