How can I become an actress?

Question

Acting is my life and my dream. I've been lead role in a couple of school musicals but that's it. I really want to go to Hollywood and act in movies. Any ideas on how to do that?

go to an acting school. like John Casablancas, John Robert Powers, or Barbizon. and they will help you with that category, they help you find an agent and you can get started from there, thats how i did it. =]

Make a resume complete with experience, awards, etc. Get a headshot, and send them to agents in Hollywood. Get an audition piece, audition for student films, go to a theater oriented college.

Well

1. Being in a few school plays doesn't mean anything to hollywood ( lead roles or not)

So get into some theater OUTSIDE of school.

2. Take acting classes

3.Get an agent, ( One who get's paid when you do, they do there job well)

4. Practice!

5. DON'T GIVE UP!

Look on line or in your phone book for local theater places. Participate in some plays there. Take acting, singing, and dancing classes. Acting is given, but singing and dancing will give you extra experience and put you above the rest.  Get a resume going. The school musicals count as experience. Find an agent. Talk with your parents, your going to need there help if your going to make it. Look on line. Practice scripts. Watch out for scams.
