I am 15 years old && I plan to have a bright future. I want to be a book writer, model && a actress. I had two years of modling experiance when i was about 11 or 12. I love to be in front of the camera, && I love to write. But out of the two I love to be in the spotlight more. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. People tell me I have alot of oppurtunities living in this big state, && that if I kept striving to succeed that I could be all I want to be (writer, model && actress.) I just need a bit of help. I'm far from shy, but when its my first time doing something (ex: acting) I get drawed back. Where are some places in ATL that I could go to get started out in my careers? Tyra Banks started when she was my age! So that gives me hope I could make it, more than a writer && model I want to be an actress though. What are some pointers that could help me, where could I get started?

  1. Well you can write anywhere so I suggest to keep that up. To combine your two loves, you can try writing a play or short film. You can find script format examples on the internet.

Get all the acting experience you can. Take drama in high school, join community theatre troops, do improv, make your own movies with your friends. Remember to work hard and keep learning.

  2. If there's a drama department at your school, join. Do your research and contact any theatrical companies in your area. Tyra worked hard and her parents helped her and watched out for her. Every year companies put on the Nutcracker. There are many parts for children. Find theatrical magazines and answer ads, and go on casting calls. Get as much experience as you can, especially to overcome your shyness. Be careful though, there are people out there who will take advantage of a 15 year old.

  3. Perform in all possible plays you can: small, big, whatever. but: Acting is easy, but make money out of it, will lead you to a nightmare of compromises (personal, family, economic, sentimental) that you may not want to go to as there are zillions of drama students, and just a few that make a living out of it.

Make your mind: business or pleasure, but most of all, do what makes you happy! cheers!
