  1. Educate yourself there are many different ideas which are wrapped up in the word "feminist" and disagreements among feminists on many issues.

Most feminists would say they want equality in all areas of life both personal and professional.  Live your life with these principles standing up for yourself and other women when you see injustice.

Men are not the enemy and more are growing up believing women are equal all the time.  Just make sure you marry/live with one of these type of guys for yours and his happiness.

  2. Oh , dear please don't . Please look into equalism or humanism, feminism is bad news.

  3. To be selfish might help a lot, it's the feminist, whose way of life means everyday to give as little as possible and to take as much as you can.

  4. The concept of feminism is the way it should be--equal pay for equal work, equal consideration for jobs and promotions, equal credit opportunities, even the right to vote for women and the right to own property or inherit property, etc.  Women have come a long way in achieving a good level of equal rights, but there are still glass ceilings.  However, I think some women have traded femininity to become a feminist.  We think we can do it all by ourselves, we put off having children, and hang our heads if we choose to be stay-at-home moms, we don't allow our men to open doors for us or help us with our coats--the little things that shows a woman that a man cares for and respects women, we want to act just like men.  We look at our young people and wonder why some of them don't know how to act.  Fast food establishments abound, nobody cooks much any more, we eat food we don't even recognize or can descern what's in them, autism is on the rise, we don't eat together, we are afraid to let our kids go outside to run and play and overweight children is almost an epidemic--Moms are nowhere in sites--it's the day care center or nanny (paid help) taking care of our most cherished assests--our future.  Dads have been relegated to a position way in the back, there somewhere.

I'm glad women have a achieved a certain level of equal rights--i know I have benefits from the women's movement.  If you are a Bible believer, you know God made woman from one of Adam's ribs.  We are supposed to be "help meets" and our husbands are supposed to love us and treat us gently.  That hasn't worked so well because we all get lazy in one way or the other--in other words we stop working on our marriages, and it is hard work and sacrafice.

You can pursue a career of your choosing.  Look into the National Organization for Women (NOW), though it's not as active as it used to be.  I think men can join and pay dues.  If you ever feel discriminated against in employment, contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  There are all kinds of other protections--it's part of the fine print you read when you apply for things.  There's also protection in applying for a school.  Is the women's movement responsible for our selfish, self-centeredness, why we have so many sexually transmitted diseases, why it's okay to have children without the benefit of marriage; e.g., Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

  5. How can I become involved in feminism?

    Don't do it .

What kinds of beliefs do I adhere to if I am to become a feminist?

The n**i hated the Jews and the faminazi hates all men. You can promote equality between  men and women without becoming a Leftist   feminist man hating nut.

  6. Believe that women should have more rights than men would be a great start.

  7. Please keep in mind that the following are all NOT TRUE: 1) Feminists believe that women should have more rights than men; 2) Feminism is bad news; 3) You should avoid feminism; and 4) Men who are feminists are *******.

The TRUTH is that anyone who believes in equality between men and women is a feminist. That is the simple definition of the term "feminist": someone who believes that men and women should be treated as equals.

As a feminist, I can tell you that we are always happy to have men standing alongside us! It's great whenever anyone, male or female, wants to join in the fight for equality. Believe it or not, there are many women AND men who are feminists!

"Feminism" is a scary word only for those who are afraid of stepping outside of a patriarchal society and into a modern one of equality. Peace be with you, and good luck in your endeavors!

  8. There are no inherent principles that are expected to be adhered to, when it comes to feminism. There are just as many feminists, as there are feminist principles. You just need to figure out what YOUR priorities are!

There are however, a few things that MOST feminists support. A couple of examples include:

Equal opportunities as those available to men; such as career opportunities. This will lead to further representation of women in both private and public sectors, which is another thing which is currently problematic for women. We do not have equal representation on Management boards, judicial counsels, legislative bodies, in the realm of politics, etc.

    - A women's right to control her own body, particularly when it comes to an unwanted pregnancy - although it's also good to note that some feminists are pro-life

Re: Men and feminism - of course men can be feminists! One didn't have to be African-American to support the Civil Rights Movement! I support any man who chooses to identify and live by the basic principles of feminism. The more the better!!
