- Should I heat it if it is metal; or soak it, to try to warp a wood cored ski.

- It does not have to hold the shape. It will be fastened with screws, through the ski into the sub structure. Simply bend without breaking

  1. heat it up alittle, gently bend

  2. Honestly, given that MOST skis are now a MIX of carbon-fiber, metal, wood, and plastics I wouldn't be applying HEAT to them !!

You COULD hunt around at garage-sales for OLD WOOD skis, wrap them in towels and pour boiling water over them, then bend the ski

With a Carbon-fiber ski, I'd just build a "Jig" to get the arc you want... SLOWLY BEND it, and s***w it to your sub-structure.

GOOD LUCK and wear safety glasses.

  3. idk...sounds like it would break...i don't think you could do it with a downhill ski but maybe an xc one...good luck!
