  1. hi

Use "run" and enter "gpedit.msc" or search for the file gpedit.msc in windows/system32 (win xp) .

    Run it (its safe)

    Open the menus

    User configuration

    Administrative templates

    System

-when u click on system on the right pane u will see settings and  sub folders of system -

in the settings there is a "prevent access to the command prompt" and the status says not configured :

Right Click It then choose enable , close it

    CMD wont run now

Note : "Command" in run will still work and give u a command line but its Command.com (DOS) not CMD.exe (WIN).

    How to disable Command.com ?

In the same place in gpedit.msc

    User configuration

    Administrative templates

    System

use the settings "Don't run specified windows applications"

enable it and choose SHOW , then ADD and write command.com !

Now both don't work but be careful with these two off !!

  2. If you are using Windows XP or 2000:

    - Click on Start --> Run

    - on the Run dialog box type:  gpedit.msc this will open group policy

    - on the left pane of gpedit, under "user configuration" expand "administrative templates"

    - click on "system"

    - on the right pane of "system", double-click "prevent access to the command prompt"

    - on the new window, click on "enable"

    - click OK

    - Close group policy

    - Done!
