How can I block particular websites on my browser (for safety)? Thanks!?

This is the purpose of a firewall.  You can get a router with a built-in firewall functionality, or you can use a software firewall.  Windows XP and Vista come with built-in firewalls (in the control panel, double click Network Connections, and then right click on the network connection that brings you to the internet -- on the advanced tab, set up your firewall); or you can use a third party firewall, often sold bundled with or as a separate product from anti-virus vendors.
