  1. Use hotfoon. Go to their www.hotfoon.com and register your phone number. Then you can call their local number (they have local numbers all over the world) and dial the number to your destination. They act as the proxy and their phone number shows up on your phone bill instead of the destination number. There is a per minute cost, but it's cheap. Often cheaper than your own long distance rates. It's only 1.5 cents per minute in the US. So your parents see a local number on their phone bill, you pay 1.5 cents per minute (you can pay via paypal, or purchase payment cards at local retailers, or by credit card). It's a no brainer. Good luck!

  2. A lot of phone companies give you the choice of whether or not to have detailed billing. You can probably call them and tell them you want to take off detailed billing. It will then just show you the amount of minutes called but not what numbers you called and for how long. Of course there are 2 downsides to this, if you ever get a huge whopping bill you will not be able to prove that you didn't talk all those minutes, and if you have someone else in your house looking at your bill- they will get suspicious that there are no calls showing up any more. I do know that ATT home phone offers unlimited long distance for around 20 a month and they will not give you detailed billing even as an option. You may want to check out that plan.

  3. just use a calling card....with an toll free access number....nothing will show up on the bill!!
