Question:

How can I break into the Acting industry without an agent (by way of online castings/open auditions) etc...?

I live in England (Just South of London - Surrey), I am 14 years old and I believe (hope) that my talent and passion for acting is enough for me to make it in the industry. I know that my parents would support me if they knew I would be successful but right now they don't seem to want to. I am nervous about bringing it up with them.

Does anyone know where I can find details of open auditions or some kind of audition that I can turn up to without an agent and without having to pay someone.

I really need help on how to break into the business.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Hun, I'm nearly 20 and have been talking about it for about 16 years!! Just don't ever stop, go to all the auditions you can and never give up. If you truly believe in youself, you'll do well. I never got round to doing anything about it, but there's still time! Go to the Stage websites and look for open auditions, travel as far as you can and go to as many as possible. Don't forget about school, though. If you study drama and music/performing arts, you will be a better candidate than just someone who's interested in the field. Good luck and I hope you go far!

  2. Advertise yourself on the internet, but don't give out personal details.

  3. Casting web sites are scams. You are not going to get anywhere without an agent. Your parents have to get you an agent. Perhaps you need to show them you are talented in acting by being in the school plays.
