Question:

How can I break my addiction to food?

I know we all have to eat but I feel like I am addicted to it. My life is kind of boring and it seems as though what I will eat is the only thing I get excited about. I actually think about food alot and I anticipate Lunch and dinner. I can't seem to loose weight because of it and I feel like I am living to eat instead of eating to live. How can I break away from this addiction?

  1. well u should plan things in ur life that r exciting. like a sleepover with one of ur friends. or going bowling with ur family or something like that. so u get excited 4 things and then u dont think of food all the time. hope this helps!


  2. Instead of maybe doing that

    join clubs and start doing activities outdoors.

    I joined the gym, it helps out because really makes you feel better after you get out of that gym:D


  3. find things to do in the day that dont involve eating. and when you go out to dinner or a meal, dont get an appetizer, and once you start to feel full from your meal, heavily salt it so that it is untouchable. you wont be able to nibble at it anymore. and eat small meals about every 3 hours. and dont splurge on a meal. if you eat small spread out meals you never get hungry and it is easier to do others things in the mean time.

    you could get a membership to a gym, because excersizing can be really fun after you get started and youll have the urge to keep gong and to not stop. you could also start drawing, photography, writing, sports.. anything that will take your mind off food.

  4. get a hobby go to the gym

    make plans

    make a healthy diet and follow it!

    doesnt have to be very strict

    run around the block

I have the same problem, and this is my new plan.  Since I like fashion and style, I'm going to make myself wear a hideous bracelet that says my goal weight until I reach my goal weight.  I also carry around a picture of a celebrity I admire, Emmy Rossum.  I may also have a hypnosis session thing(to help people lose weight and stop smoking), because they have them for free in my town.

  8. Try to think of something disgusting and gross whenever you are feeling hungry, and press your index finger and thumb together so you can resist the urge to eat. That always works. In the mean time, try to take up a hobby (that does not involve food) such as photography, drawing, etc.
