Due toVonage's phone quality, I have switched to Verizon and kept the phone number, and they made my account active because I was in a year contract. I called so many times and every time I called, their customer service rep. told me different stories. One said I can disconnect the service right away and others said I can't. They even told me after the contract is over, they cannot refund the credit that I have in my account. I called again after 5 mos. and they can cancel it, but ask me to pay the penalty for $40.00 because the last day of the contract is tomorrow. I've really had it with this company and suggest everybody not to do any business with them.
