  1. these so called recrutiment agencies are the bane of the job seekers life.... if you are not on the dole... or pension... they simply will not put your resume forward as the government pays them higher fees for placig long term unemployed and pensioners into jobs....

Of course all of these agencies deny this..... but the bottom line is the bottom line.. the mighty dollar...  theirs and not yours..

To find a job without the interference of these companies you need to:

decide what kind of job you want...

what kind of business provieds this kind of work...

then decide what locality you want to work in...

having made these decisions go to the yellow pages and search for these businesses...

larger business have their email and wwebsite attached to their yellow pages listing...

send your resume with a coverletter by post or email to every prospective employer in the are that may have a position available...

    and hope...

Also read the job vacancies in the local and state newspapers and respond to these jobs...

And cross our fingers... It will be some time before employers catch on to the fact they are only getting seond rate applicants by using these employment agencies.

  2. Post your resume on all of the websites that feature jobs in your area, and apply EVERY day.  Also, find top companies in your area, and get on their website, find where they post jobs, and apply.

  3. it is very difficult maybe try local and state newspapers i also don't and wont go with agencies i really believe a lot of jobs advertised through agencies don't really exist,so just keep trying i Hope you have some success

  4. You have to do a lot of work but it is worth it.  Get the Sydney Morning Herald every day and go through the jobs as well as any local newspapers if you want to work near your home.  Also, go through the jobs on web sites such as www.careerone.com.au or any other industry related web site including the web sites for Government jobs (depending on what you want to do). At most of these sites, you can even post your resume but I found that you don't get much a response.

I found that you have a better chance of getting to the interview if you do the contacting yourself rather than through an agency who might have already culled you out of the list.  Go for it and good luck.
