Question:

How can I bypass time access blocks?

Ok, so basically my computer has a strict parental controls program. The internet gets blocked at night, however, being a teenager I stay up later. I simply want to get online a little longer, by bypassing the time block. I know that time blocks simply limit access to the ip. I have a wireless card and I believe one option would be to change the ip number, but seeing as the block is a program, I'm not sure if it would work or the program would adjust to the new ip.

*please post anything on if this would work, how to do it, and/or other methods of bypassing*

P.S. It is not a block on just Internet Explorer, as I tried another browser. However, I dont think the ip address itself it blocked, because I have access to AIM and any other IM.

  1. It is possible that it is only blocking TCP traffic on port 80. This is where HTTP traffic normally goes. You could try using a proxy that accepts connections on a different port (like 8080).
