  1. You will have to sit down and begin by writing a list of the items you spent money on. Think back to the start of the year and try to put them down in an orderly form. Seed, tools and equipment, fuel used and any repair cost, fertilizer/ chemicals, etc. Then you have make an additional list to sort out how much labor/ days you used. Land preparations, planting, maintenance of equipment and fields, harvest. If you had any help you need to sort out how much. Put all that hourly work on a calender of sorts. For cost of labor you will have to figure out what would be the ideal wage and apply it to the total hours. Subtract that from your gross (earnings from your harvest) and you will have your net (profit). When you have finished you will see how important every single receipt is. For the next season, keep records or plan to go threw this again.
