Question:

How can I calm myself?

So I'm trying to draw and get better at it. The thing is that I keep overthinking it. I keep thinking that if I do a doodle, it' going to suck or I'm going to do it wrong. Also in my house, I've had to deal with family problems that badly affect me today and and noise they make makes me jumpy. So my goal is to draw better, I just can't keep calm and actually do it.

  1. Hi.  In drawing classes the instructor often has students start with a bunch of gesture drawings.  Gesture drawings are very fast drawings, so fast that you don't have time to think or "get things right," but rather just make an impression, a "gesture" of what you're seeing.  They can definitely help you relax.  You could do dozens of them.  Set a timer for sixty seconds and when it goes off, just stop.  Then start another.  And another.

  2. do you think that all the great writers painters such like never made a mistake i can promise you they all did at some point make it part of the work nobody is going to be harmed because you made a mistake try going to a lake whatever to draw is peaceful and gives you a subject to draw you never know it might just inspire you and give you the confidence you lack

  3. Just relax. And dont phocus on if i make a little mistake its bad. If you make a mistake just keep drawing and see how it looks like when it is finished. You can also make the mistake part of the drawing
