I've always wanted to take a great picture of soft sunlight rays falling in the woods, or perhaps rays coming off clouds. What kind of setting should I use? Do I need a filter for it? Thanks.

  1. Mostly you need to come upon a scene where the lighting is what you wish to capture and do it.

I've had some pretty good shots – even using a camera phone – when the light is right.

    Motorola RAZR Phone:

Or, you could aim right into the sun to induce some lens flare, which looks like sun rays sometimes.
