How can I cash a check from the UK HM Revenue and Customs for my tax refund in the USA. My bank 4 to 8 weeks?

It is my tax refund from England. But I need to cash it in America, the check is for 747 British Pounds. I am living here in America.

I lived in the UK for 7 years.  I maintained a bank account in the US for just this purpose and then wired funds as needed.  Clearance time, less than one week.

You could also get an account with Barclay's here in the US.  They can handle that much more quickly than smaller US banks can.
