How can I catch large mouth bass?

I am fishing a fairly small lake that reaches depths of 106 feet. This depth is only in the middle and I am not fishing there but I am usually fishing in 8 to 10 feet of water. What lure would you recommend if the water is warm and very very clear? I like the idea of crankbaits and those seem like they would work well but I have never used them on this lake before. Also would you recommend blue or clear mono line? Both lines are 6 LB test but I was wondering which one would look better in the water or which would the bass be less likely to see. aI have also been fishing all of my lures with a leader that is silver and gold. Would you recommend that I don't use a leader and just tie the lures on or does its not make a difference? Also another thing about the crankbaits is that where I am fishing the bottom is either sand or mud not rocks. Would this make the crankbait less effective considering that its main purpose is to bounce off the rocks and there are none to bounce off of? I know I am asking a lot of questions but thank you in advance if you can answer some of them.

  1. Largemouth bass are often in very shallow waters not even in 8-10 feet sometimes.  They hang around structure but not usually rocks...thats smallmouth bass territory. If you want to catch a largemouth you need to either texas rig a plastic of any type...a worm or and creature.  Using this you can fish thick weeds or boat docks. However, i think the easiest way to catch largemouth is to flip wacky worm rigs under and around boat docks and lifts.  If the water is clear look for the bass under the docks and skip it under you will learn how to fast.  Let it sink to the depth the bass is and slowly twitch it in front of it than let it sit.  Fish it very slow and few people use this technique and know how good it is.  Remember that bass will be found in water up to 2 feet in depth regularly and when the weather isnt good...the largemouth fishing is.

  2. The best way to catch Largemouth is to use a Canadian Nightcrawler or a plastic worm on a big size hook. Fish very low on the lake, only like 2 cranks off the bottom. Then, just wait, and soon enough, one will come.

  3. Your crankbaits will work when they kick up tufts of sand and mud as they wiggle along the bottom. Now if you are concerned about your line being seen spool up with flourocarbon, it has the same refractive index as water... the fish don't see it. Also try some topwater poppers early and late in the evening. Make sure to fish around some cover like pads, grass or downed trees. Part of the fun in fishing is experimenting and learning what works and what doesn't. Catch a bunch and have fun!!!

  4. I always have the most luck with plastic worms. Try going to the pond at dusk and throw a 4" purple worm with a red tail, the swirl type tail, throw it out, let it settle to the bottom and sit for a few seconds, then just give the rod a little twitch, just enough so that you can feel your worm jump off the bottom, then let it settle again, and keep repeating this "twitch" method and I guarantee you will soon be catching Bass.

It's really important to let the worm settle and sit for a few seconds before you "twitch" it off of the bottom again as this is when the bass will usually hit it, so be patient, and good luck.  Also I prefer the clear line, preferably flourocarbon in the shallows as it displays the best invisibility.

  5. Ok myfriend, Here we go. I am good. So lets start out with 11inch worm. A quater ounce sinker. Its  hot its summer. Try dark color. Work it slow and hard. Summer is time get those bites on big worm. Feed her little when you get the bite so as make good hook set. Like drop rod tip and count too two  then set her. You can bank on this in hot summer months................
