How can I change my nickname on 360? I change my nickname in settings but reverts back to the old nickname!?

NOTE: It talks mostly about the name, and not the nickname, but  the key point is that there are many sections on that page with a red asterisk and they have to be filled in properly or the page won't save. The name field is where many people mess up on.

When you go into settings, some of the fields clear. Make sure you fill them ALL in, or when you enter your name, it will reset to your old name.

There are several choices when changing your name on 360.

You can use your real name, or create one, or use your id.

Make sure you have selected the one you really want, otherwise your name will just stay the same.

Your nickname you selected may be too long, and it does not work. Your nickname may have characters that do not work, such as numbers.

360 has alot of things you need to do to do things right, so make sure everything is in order when you try to change your name. I myself have a Y!360 and it took me about a week just to get a nickname, a profile, a background, and my very first blog entry. Now i can do it in less than 2 hours.
