I have an Edimax BR-6304Wg router, how can I change the IP of it?

  1. Do you mean the router's private or public IP address?

    The public IP address, if it is dynamic, is set by your ISP, not you and you set this for a dynamic IP in the router config page.  If it is static, you configure the router for static IP on the router's WAN or Public IP section; include the subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers when you set the static one.

    The private IP address is set on the router configuration section where you define and set up the private subnet.  If you do not understand subnets, it is best you leave this alone.


  2. type cmd in the run function.

    Then in the command dialog, type in ipconfig.

    See what your gateway network ip is. then type it in the address bar.

    It should take you into your routers configuration menu.

    or try 192.168.2.1 << could try this ip. thats the one for me. might not for you.

  3. Be more specific. Do you want to chance its IP as shown on your network, or the IP seen on the internet?
