Question:

How can I change my style?

As of now, I am an eighth grade girl who's closet consists entirely of hollister and abercrombie. I find myself now sick of these clothes and I don't want to wear these companies anymore, especially when I enter high school. I'm going to have to wear the said companies for the rest of the year, though, and have only three or four shirts of a different company and one vest. I'm going for a more urban outfitters kind of style, with lots of belts and scarves. How do I make the transition slowly, as my mom is not willing to spend a lot of money this year so we can save up to buy clothes specifically for high school? And do you have any fashion tips for someone going toward the style I'm looking for? Also, do you have any tips about accessories, such as jewelry?

  2. What I would do is go through your clothes and figure out what fits and what doesn't, and get rid of the stuff that you don't wear and/or doesn't fit.  Then, make a list of what you need and what you want.  This year, buy some of the clothes that you need.  Then this summer, do the same thing and make a list of what you need now, and what you want.  Let your mom buy what you need for school.  Then, buy the stuff you want throughout the school year.  Don't worry about jewelry and accessories, you can get that later after you have transitioned fully.  Remember to put clothes and accessories on you birthday and xmas lists, you would not believe how much it helps to get clothes you want as gifts instead of out of you mother's or your own pocket.

  3. I suggest picking a look and trying to recreate it. I often times shop at thrift stores to find those unique pieces. I just bought an over sized leather belt for 50 cents this morning at a thrift store, and in the store I seen one just like it for 25. Thrift stores ALWAYS have lots of scarfs. Usually like really cheap too. I suggest just go whenever you have free time and a few bucks in your pocket. Sometimes you can find gems, you just have to be open to integrating older things in a new way. This is just an example but look at how this one similar belt has accessorizes so many different looks! http://www.runwaydaily.com/runwaydaily/i... Again be creative and just have fun!

Oh an also don't worry about trying to have a certain look all at once. If your moms willing to buy you new outfits, buy complete outfits. Buy versatile pieces also, like sweaters and skinny jeans that can be worn with boots or tanks or dress shirts. Also leggings are cheap if your trying to just get a few new outfits. I bought a pair at walmart ( the cotton kind not the kind like pantyhose) for 5 bucks, and paired it with a sweater dress I got for like 16 and some boots I had, and bam... whats that like around 20 bucks? Anyways like I said just have fun with it =]

  4. you can still use the basic pieces, like jeans and shorts, to slowly transform ur look. then all you really have to purchase now are shirts. plaids and other prints are good for tops. i think the key with urban outfitters is to have different stuff. so you can also try second hand stores to find unique items.  and get some type of hat, like a baret or a fedora, in a neutral color, so it can go with everything.  hope that helps some

  5. make your own style you could wear just a hollister tee shirt and jeans then to make it different buy a pair of vans or converse

if you want to go for the urban outfitters style just get hoop earings and shop at American eagle and urban outfitters they have the same style....

    Hope i helped! :)

  6. mix in your old clothes from last year that you like

buy clothes not for summer but the transition of the weather so dont buy everything on clearance because most of the things are summer and thin but if you do layering is so hot now so mix it up with tanks tees henleys shop for winter/ fall in october and thanksgiving the clothes will help but if you are tight on money then layer up but deff. buy for the first week and make sure your clothes are clean and spary some perfume on your closet so they smell good start it off like that scarfes are big this year not just for outside but for in the class room

go to clearances on jewellery people dont really notice like clothes

    tops 4-5

    jeans 3

    shorts 2

    skirts 2

    sweaters 3

    shoes 2

    jackets 1

get cordoroys, twill, demin, camsmere, cotton, and wool like only one thing for an outift should be a different matrial looks better more dressy even though it didnt take that long :)
